Marriage Licenses
At any time within the three months prior to your wedding date, you will need to purchase a marriage licence. Only one member of the couple is required to apply, but they must do so in person and provide primary identification for both parties.
Examples of primary identification include:
• Birth certificate
• Immigration document (IMM form)
• Permanent Resident Card
• Citizenship Card
A passport or driver’s licence may also be accepted in some circumstances, at the discretion of the marriage
licence issuer.
Cost
A marriage licence costs $100 and is non-refundable. If your licence is lost, you may return to the location where it was purchased to request a replacement.
Where to Get a Marriage Licence
You can obtain your marriage licence at Service BC locations in Kelowna or Vernon, or from other issuers throughout British Columbia.
